It is DARN cold!! I don't think I've mentioned here before, but my sewing "room" is actually a wooden cabin type construction in the garden. (Christened the "PortiaCabin" by J) It's hooked up to the electricity supply and I have 2 heaters on the go, but in the current temperatures it is pretty darn cold!! (Just check out these icicles on the outside! Pretty though huh?!)
I've been doing a fair bit of sewing & pottering in there this week and have had to trudge through a foot of snow to get there, and wear two cardigans and 2 pairs of socks (I look truly stylish at the moment, ha ha!) once I make it inside. The main road in and out of our village is impassable, so we are essentially cut off. (The local supermarket is getting limited deliveries and are rationing milk to 4 pints per person). I can feel a slight wartime mentality taking hold!! So there's nowhere to go and nothing to be done, but throw myself into a bit of sewing, a bit of knitting and crafting, a bit of blogging, and make a snowman of course.......

ReplyDeleteEast of England, but the whole of the UK is like it right now. I've never known it this cold!
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know it was this cold here in the north west earlier in the year. I was esentially cut off for two weeks as I could not get my car out and when I could it was so icy all I did was spin the wheels. We have had it quite easy up to now but we seem to have had a little bit of snow over night not sure if it will stay arround or melt as the day progresses. But I must add it is 'mightly cold here as well'. Keep those thermals handy...
