Thrifty Finds # 27 - Something for nothing!

Yep that's right. This job lot of fabric cost me zilch, nada, diddly squat! I scored all of these fine pieces of fabric from a very kind and lovely lady via my local Freecycle group. I seriously couldn't believe my luck!
The picture doesn't quite show it I don't think, but there is a serious amount of (very high quality) fabric here...
From top to bottom: 2m Raspberry coloured suiting fabric, 1.5m brushed cotton/flannel in gorgeous berry coloured autumnal print, 2.5m Navy suiting fabric, 3m pure wool in a stunning teal colour, 1.5m grey wool flannel, 3.5m stunning crepe de chine (??Tilly can I borrow your book?!), 4m creamy linen (synthetic??) with grey fleck.
I think conservatively there has to be at least £75-£100 of fabric here. Happy days!

  3. Oh. My. God. You can really see the quality. Why was she giving them away, WHY?! But great for you.

  5. Very, very nice! I still haven't finished sorting through my last donation. People give me things when they find out I sew. My last score was two large moving boxes stuffed full of everything from wool to pleather.

  7. Fantastic. I scored some fabric from a freecycler too, with a little sad story attached - her eyesight had deteriorated so she couldn't sew anymore :( but she was happy to give her fabric to a new home. Gotta love freecycle though!

  12. WOW!!! Score! This is making me a bit nostalgic for the Freecycle back in VA that was so good. I picked up a lot of cast-off craft and sewing supplies that way. :) (The one in my city is rather lackluster, I have to say. :/)

Can't wait to see what you use all this for!
